With the deadlines for university applications swiftly approaching, many college students really feel pressured to have other people publish the majority—if not all—of their school applications. Their customers agree and flip to Ivy Advising for trustworthy feedback and tips.

Ivy Advising’s Ideas for Completing Last Minute College Applications:

one. Remain Focused: Instead of attempting to comprehensive all your applications at after, finish people that are at the top of your “to do” checklist and make certain at least 1 of them is for a security college. That way, you can ensure that you get at least 1 or two applications totally finished and place your very best foot forward at your most critical schools.

two. Apply On-line: Almost each and every college or university offers an on-line submission selection. If you get into a bind, take into account applying on-line to give by yourself more time to create and edit your application.

    3. Micro-manage your recommenders: Frequently, delayed recommendations result in applications to be incomplete. As a result, micro-control your recommenders—provide them with all the pieces they need to have to send in your letter (which includes a stamped, addressed envelope) and stick to-up with them on a everyday basis if necessary. For recommenders who are notorious for their lack of consideration to detail, offer you to send in their sealed recommendations for them.

four. Edit, Edit, Edit: When time is short, details are missed and embellishments can multiply. Consequently, ensure that you have your essay and resume edited for any and all blunders with an ethical advisor. Ivy Advising gives fast, sincere suggestions to students at any stage of the application method.

I was able to pull up my reading score just by studying a little vocab. Might help you guys… I got a list of the most commonly used vocab on the sat and just memorized all of it. I got the list from the onlinesatreview and just studied it until I knew every word. Oh and also don’t expect to get a good score if you’re not willing to put in the time. I didn’t give a shit until my senior year and then I actually studied and got a good score. Hope this helps.

My pleasure :) Just to be clear, though, the issue isn’t with the formatting. Most prep books get that stuff right, in terms of the number of questions and sections and so on. The real issue is that the fine details of the questions aren’t always faithful to the more subtle rules and patterns of the real test. Third-party practice materials sometimes require test-takers to do things or know things that the real test might not require.

    • lastdevil941 09:45 on 01/02/2013 Permalink | Reply

According to the practice questions that are in my copy that lay out all the nine sections all seem just like the SAT practice test on college board’s website so I suppose, they got the format right. However, I’ll try researching more about that. Thanks for taking the time to help =)

    • TestingIsEasy 10:09 on 01/02/2013 Permalink | Reply

I don’t want to say anything negative about a specific book. Basically, if you use the real College Board questions, then you can be sure everything you see in practice (in terms of the way the questions are designed) is something that you might possibly see on the real test. If you use *any* source but the College Board, you don’t have that guarantee. So I would only use real College Board questions if I were you. I’m sure people use other books and get good results, but I wouldn’t do that.

Thanks in advance.

and the scores were based on a 1-4. 3 and up you passed 2 and under you failed it. i got a 2 on the paper and was told my paper was pathetic… i had the highest grade in my cp english class and me and only 4 other people in my school got a 11 and 12 on our ACT essays. the way they grade papers is ridiculous.

    • Tre Ross 14:06 on 01/02/2013 Permalink | Reply

this was really helpful im glad i watched this!. i find it kind of funny how these people grade essays. im a junior in highschool and in Nc every highschool junior was required to take the ACT about a month and a half ago, i just got my results back last week i made a 11 on the essay portion at the end of the ACT. the score was based on a 1-12 score 12 being the highest. but last semester my english class had to write a essay for the state and they graded it and sent the results back

    • TestingIsEasy 14:50 on 01/02/2013 Permalink | Reply

sometimes it can be hard to distinguish among a 10, 11, or 12.

to answer your question, according to the grading scales in the blue book, it’s theoretically possible to make an 800 on the section with a 10 on the essay.

(i think i answered the same question over on the other video?)
